I'm unable of thinking of any other MMORPG which has that many content absolutely free. Not only is OSRS gold free, but also Ad-free(at at least when I played). Not only is it free, they occasionally offer content updates and allow new game modes to play in F2p when quite a bit of servers are available. It's one of the best F2p games on the market, IMO.
I understand what you're saying. On the flip side, I wouldn't suggest anyone pays for membership until they have put in some time into F2p. I'd suggest a minimum of 50 hours. (Dragonslayer quest complete is what I'd suggest). I wouldn't suggest that you try to master any skill in F2p cause that is painful, just like cutting in yews. P2p is just too overwhelming for players who are new IMO and F2p offers an excellent idea of what the game has to offer.
There's a good chance that a lot people RuneScape players are aware of the type of people will enjoy RuneScape and what types of people would not. The idea of letting me test it for free to see whether I'll enjoy it is not a huge factor for me. If I think a friend might like RuneScape I'd advise him to begin mems now, if I know RuneScape is too grindy and slow to them, I would not recommend it in any way. A person who is considering f2p as a first test is a good idea, but it might lower the likelihood that they remain.
You don't have to compare it with the paid version or other free-to-play games . If you find out "no" this isn't an enjoyable game to play for fun. Most things are available for free and are simple, or not fun. Perhaps you're the one who misinterpreted it as "is f2p OSRS enjoyable in comparison to other no-cost games?" That's the way you answered.
A person who truly understands the issue. Would you recommend it to someone who is looking for an absolutely free, ad-free microtransactions-free, MMO? In terms of the people it's catering to, I'm sure it meets all the boxes to be considered to be excellent. Half the time a new player shows up and wants to ask Reddit what they should do, the 4/5 community tells them to do all the quests for f2p and increase their stats before purchasing members. Why?
I would suggest F2P RuneScape to nobody. If I think RuneScape is the right game for someone I would suggest they buy bonds with IRL money or even bond them myself and have them experience the full game for two weeks. I believe I said in a previous comment that I know all of my friends would not have fun in f2p but I know that I can connect with people I know who love the grind of RPS games who would like P2P Buy OSRS gold.
