  • WoW Players Request WoTLK Classic Gold Removal Of NPCs Named After Ex-Director Named In New Lawsuit

World of Warcraft players are seeking two NPCs named after the former WoW executive director Alex Afrasiabi to be removed from the game. This follows explicit mention of Afrasiabi's claims of a pattern of harassment against female staff members in a recent lawsuit that was filed by California's Department of Fair Employment and Housing against Activision Blizzard.

Afrasiabi, who unceremoniously left Blizzard at the end of summer 2020 is the sole person named directly in the State of California's suit in relation to sexual harassment allegations. The lawsuit asserts that he frequently smack female employees with the intention of trying to kiss them and place an arm around them. One portion of the lawsuit that is particularly telling is the claim that Afrasiabi's room was named the "Crosby Suite" an apparent omission of a reference to the alleged sexual assaulter Bill Cosby, who in 2018 was sentenced to 10 years in jail for sexual assault . the charges were later thrown out from the Pennsylvania State Supreme Court.

The suit claims that Afrasiabi's pattern of harassment was made known to Blizzard executive management, but no corrective actions were taken because of his rank and Blizzard president J. Allen Brack allegedly only offering Afrasiabi an obscene slap on the wrist to protest his behavior. Afrasiabi was hired by Blizzard on the 4th of April 2004 and was a quest creator for vanilla WoW. He would go on to be the creative director of WoW's Warlords of Draenor and buy WoTLK Gold Legion expansions.
